Wherever you go, go with all your heart.— Confucius
This is probably one of my favourite quotes, and seems like a good place to start. Thanks for coming and checking out this new little project of mine (I’m sure you’re scrolling through this in the middle of a night shift because you have nothing better to do but nonetheless thank you anyways!
Starting this has been something I have wanted to do for some time now, and what better time than a new year to start doing new things that I won’t follow through on!!! (kidding, but seriously the gym new-year-resolution-makers are still in full force). But actually, I’m looking forward to this little page. If you know me you will know that I am the kind of person who likes to have a “full plate” so to speak. I’ll be honest, I don’t have time to read a lot of peoples’ blogs online, but in the spirit of my own 2020 goals to gain a bit more balance in my life, I’m making some time to do some of the fun stuff too (or procrastinating from writing my thesis… shout out to my supervisors if you’re reading this!)
I certainly can’t promise anything spectacular (so keep your expectations low) but I’m looking forward to being able to focus on some of the important parts of my life and let you judge me wholeheartedly! Wearing my few different “hats” is one of the things that I think keeps my life interesting and makes me feel fulfilled. Many of you may know me from wearing my nursing hat (although I feel a bit cheated because I never even got a nursing cap when I went to nursing school), and I’m sure that a lot of people are going to scroll through this page thinking “why on earth would she do that, who cares?” Truthfully I think that’s a pretty big part of the reason I’ve put doing this on the back burner for so long, because I was worried what others would think. But this year I’ve made a promise to myself to do ME for ME (more on that in another post)… so if it is something that brings me joy, power ahead!
I think the best way to describe what I see this page becoming is a shareable sampler of my life (maybe not as good as the platter at Barney’s, but you know)- I will say I’ve always been a bit of a square peg in a round hole in that I’ve been interested in a lot of different things and had lots of different groups of people in my life. Whether you know me as a nurse, family member, friend or colleague, I hope there is something you guys all enjoy on here. My goal is to post once a week- so keep me accountable! The quote I started out with, I think is a pretty good representation of who I am. Passionate, loyal, and committed. So I hope to be able to share some of that with you.
Thanks for coming on this journey with me!
